The main station, partly under redevelopment. The Flying Ranee and the Intercity to Mumbai and several trains to Bihar start here; every Rajdhani, the Shatabdi and the Mumbai–Ahmedabad Vande Bharats only pass through.
Udhna Junction (UDN)
Inside the city, one stop south, and easier from south Surat. Trains to Danapur, Varanasi, Brahmapur and Jaynagar start here, as do most festival specials — the station for going home to Bihar, UP and Odisha.
Trains that start elsewhere
The Rajdhanis to Delhi, the Golden Temple Mail and the Paschim Express start in Mumbai or further south. On these, Surat draws on its own smaller quota, so check the waiting-list type before holding on to one.
