Tatkal ticket booking
Tatkal is decided in seconds, not minutes. By the time most people have typed the passenger details and reached the payment page, the berths are gone. That is not bad luck — it is the design of the system, and it is exactly the problem we exist to solve.

Why Tatkal fails for almost everyone
The window is seconds, not minutes
On a contested train the quota is exhausted almost immediately after opening. Anything that costs you ten seconds — a form field, an OTP, a slow page — has already cost you the berth.
You are typing while others are pasting
Passenger details entered from scratch at 10:00:00 is a losing race against desks that have everything staged and ready before the window opens.
Payment is where most people lose it
Seats are held only briefly. A payment that needs a bank page, an OTP and a redirect frequently outlasts that hold, and the berth returns to the pool.
One shot, one train
An individual gets a single attempt at a single train. A desk can work several options in parallel, which is the difference between one chance and several.
A desk built for a window measured in seconds
Staged before the window
Passenger details, route, class and quota are prepared in advance so nothing is being typed when the clock turns.
At the terminal, daily
Both windows, every day — not on request, and not as a favour. It is what the desk is set up to do.
More than one line of attack
Where a route has several viable trains, we work them in parallel rather than betting everything on the obvious one.
Premium Tatkal considered
Premium Tatkal carries dynamic pricing and often has availability when ordinary Tatkal has gone. We will tell you when the difference is worth paying and when it is not.
An honest read first
If your route and date have a poor chance even through Tatkal, we say so before you commit rather than after.
Confirmed, or refunded
If we cannot get you a confirmed berth, you receive a 100% refund.
Not travelling tomorrow?
If your journey is further out, Tatkal is the wrong tool. Our Confirmation Quota analysis works the train, date, quota and boarding point to get you confirmed without paying Tatkal rates at all.
How Confirmation Quota worksTatkal, answered straight
What time does Tatkal booking open?+
Tatkal opens one day before the journey date — generally 10:00 AM for AC classes and 11:00 AM for Sleeper and second seating. Note that it is one day before the date of travel, not the date of booking, which is where people most often miscount and miss the window entirely.
Can you book Tatkal for me?+
Yes — it is a large part of what the desk does daily. Send us the journey the day before travel, ideally the evening before so everything is staged before the window opens. We are at the terminal for both windows every day.
Why does my Tatkal attempt always fail?+
Almost always for one of three reasons: the quota is exhausted within seconds on contested trains, passenger details are being typed rather than pre-staged, or the payment takes longer than the seat hold. None of those is about luck, and all three are what an agent removes.
What is Premium Tatkal?+
A separate quota with dynamic pricing — the fare rises as it fills, so it costs more than ordinary Tatkal but frequently has availability when ordinary Tatkal has gone. On an unmissable journey it is often the right trade, and we will tell you honestly when it is not worth the difference.
Can I get a refund on a confirmed Tatkal ticket?+
Generally no — confirmed Tatkal tickets are not refundable on cancellation, other than in specific circumstances such as the train being cancelled or running very late. That is a Railways rule rather than ours, and it is worth knowing before you book, which is why we say it here rather than after you have paid. Our own promise is separate: if we cannot get you confirmed at all, you get your money back in full.
Do I need ID proof for a Tatkal ticket?+
Tatkal bookings require identity details at the time of booking, and the passenger named must carry that original ID during the journey. Send us the details with your request and we will handle it — being asked for it at the last minute is a common reason bookings stall at the worst moment.
How late can I contact you for a Tatkal booking?+
The evening before travel is ideal, because it lets us stage everything before the window opens. We will still try at shorter notice — but the earlier we have the details, the more the odds move in your favour.
