Chennai Central, not Egmore — and the Delhi end
The two big Chennai terminals serve different directions, and a mix-up costs you the train.
MGR Chennai Central (MAS)
The main long-distance terminal and the start of both the Chennai Rajdhani and the Chennai Duronto to Hazrat Nizamuddin.
Chennai Egmore (MS)
Mostly trains heading south within Tamil Nadu. Easy to confuse with Chennai Central on a ticket — they are different stations.
Tambaram & suburban stops
Convenient from the southern suburbs for trains that stop there. A stop along the way usually means a smaller share of seats than the starting terminal.
The Delhi end
Both premium trains from Chennai run to Hazrat Nizamuddin, not New Delhi — worth knowing if you are being met or connecting.
