The rail desk for Connaught Place offices
Connaught Place sits closer to New Delhi station than any other business district in the city. The offices here — banks, law firms, consultancies and head offices — book short-notice day trains and overnight Rajdhanis, and change them often. We handle that from our licensed desk, a short drive away in Karol Bagh.
New Delhi is on your doorstep — but it has two sides
From Connaught Place the station question is less about distance than about which entrance, and which of Delhi's other terminals a train actually leaves from.
New Delhi (NDLS)
One stop from Rajiv Chowk on the Yellow Line, or a short walk. It has entrances on opposite sides — Paharganj and Ajmeri Gate — and crossing between them with luggage takes longer than people expect. We tell travellers which side to use.
Old Delhi (DLI)
Three stops up the Yellow Line at Chandni Chowk. A number of trains to Punjab, Jammu and Rajasthan start here rather than at New Delhi — the station travellers most often assume is a mistake.
Hazrat Nizamuddin (NZM)
Many trains to Mumbai, Goa and the south leave from here. From Connaught Place it's a cab rather than the metro — allow for Mathura Road traffic.
Anand Vihar (ANVT)
Where many eastbound trains to Bihar and eastern UP start. It's on the Blue Line from Rajiv Chowk, but allow more time than the map suggests.
The offices we book for here
Banks, insurers & financial services
Head and regional offices around Parliament Street and Barakhamba Road. Inspection, audit and branch-visit travel, often confirmed only days ahead.
Law firms & chartered accountants
Hearings at the High Courts in Chandigarh, Lucknow, Prayagraj and Jaipur. Dates move at short notice, so cancelling and rebooking is routine.
Consultancies & government-facing firms
Teams visiting state capitals for department meetings — Lucknow, Jaipur, Chandigarh, Dehradun, Bhopal. Day trains, executive chair car, same-day returns.
Industry bodies & associations
Delegations, member events and conferences that move people in groups, usually to fixed dates.
Newsrooms & publishers
Media houses around ITO and Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg. Reporting trips at no notice, and festival travel for large staffs.
Where Central Delhi offices send people

- Delhi – Lucknow & Prayagraj for state government and High Court work
- Delhi – Jaipur & Jodhpur
- Delhi – Dehradun & Haridwar
- Delhi – Mumbai & Kolkata overnight on the Rajdhani
- Delhi – Amritsar & Jammu
Not every 'authorised agent' is the same
IRCTC registration is widely held and easy to obtain. A licence from Indian Railways is neither.
IRCTC Authorised Agent
Registration with IRCTC for e-ticketing. Low barrier to obtain and widely held across the trade — which is why, on its own, it tells you nothing about a vendor's depth.
YTSK (PPP) — licensed by Indian Railways
Not a registration with a subsidiary. A licence awarded by Indian Railways under the Yatri Ticket Suvidha Kendra public–private partnership, on terms carrying a substantial fee and deposit. Few ticketing operators hold one.
Us vs. the average train agent
Every row is something you can hold us to in the contract.
| Average train agent | Rail Yatri Suvidha Kendra | |
|---|---|---|
| Authorisation | IRCTC registration only | YTSK (PPP) licensed by Indian Railways, plus IRCTC authorised agent |
| Focus | Rail is one line among flights, hotels, visas and packages | Rail only. There is no other desk to prioritise over yours |
| Conflict of interest | Also sells flights and corporate travel — a live route to your client | No air desk, no packages, no corporate travel arm. We cannot become your competitor |
| Tatkal readiness | Best effort, whoever is free at the time | Agents at the terminal for the 10:00 AC and 11:00 Sleeper windows, every day |
| Waitlist handling | Booked, then left to the passenger to watch | Tracked to chart preparation, with status pushed to you rather than waiting to be asked |
| Quota strategy | Books whatever was asked for | GNWL, PQWL, RLWL and TQWL behave differently — we route bookings toward the ones that actually clear |
| Cancellations & TDR | Handed back to you to file | Filed, tracked and reconciled as part of the service |
| Invoicing | Ad hoc, per booking | Monthly, GST compliant, with a reconciliation statement in your format |
| Escalation | Whoever picks up the phone | A named contact, reachable when a passenger is stranded outside office hours |
| Peak season | Same capacity as any other month | Surge capacity planned for Chhath, Diwali, Holi and the summer rush |
What we take off your desk

Group quota
Handled to Railway rules, with berths kept together as far as the system allows.
Cancellations, TDR & refunds

Festival surge cover for when your own desk is at its limit.
Reconciliation
A monthly statement matching your records line by line, in your format.
Escalation cover
A named person for the call that arrives at 11pm about a stranded delegate.
From request to reconciliation
You send the request
Passenger details, route, date and class through whatever channel suits you — a shared inbox, a WhatsApp line, or a feed into your system.
We assess and quote
Availability checked across trains, dates and quotas. Where your first choice will not confirm, we come back with the options that will, and say so plainly.

What our clients say
“I travel Delhi–Mumbai almost every week. When Tatkal sells out in seconds, these are the people I message. They have confirmed seats for me more times than I can count, on Rajdhani and Vande Bharat both.”
“We had 11 people travelling for a wedding and were stuck on a long waitlist. I sent one WhatsApp message with everyone's details and they coordinated the whole thing. Almost all confirmed.”
Request a proposal
Tell us your volume and we'll come back with service charge bands, credit terms and an SLA — not a generic brochure.
Group booking request
One journey, many passengers — offsites, conferences, weddings, educational and religious travel.
Asked by Connaught Place & Central Delhi teams
Do you have an office in Connaught Place?+
No. Our licensed desk is in Karol Bagh, a short drive away, and everything runs over WhatsApp, phone and email. Rail booking doesn't need a local office — Indian Railways is one national reservation system. What matters is the licence, the specialisation and whether someone answers at 11pm when a hearing moves.
Which station should our people use from Connaught Place?+
Usually New Delhi, one stop from Rajiv Chowk. But many trains to Mumbai, Goa and the south leave from Hazrat Nizamuddin, eastbound trains often from Anand Vihar, and some northern services from Old Delhi. We confirm the station — and the entrance — on every booking.
Our dates change constantly. Can you keep up?+
Yes. For the law firms and consultancies we work with, cancelling and rebooking is routine. We handle the cancellation, the refund and the new booking in one conversation, and it all shows on the monthly statement.
Do you invoice monthly with GST?+
Yes — one GST invoice a month with a reconciliation statement, against credit terms agreed when the account is set up. Individual travellers can also pay per booking if that suits your policy better.
