The twin cities start long-distance trains from five terminals — Secunderabad, Hyderabad Deccan (Nampally), Kacheguda, Lingampally and the new Charlapalli terminal — and trains to the same city often leave from different ones. Each train carries its own Tatkal quota, so that spread is the twin cities' biggest Tatkal advantage. Most people only ever try Secunderabad.

Trains to Visakhapatnam start from Secunderabad, Nampally, Lingampally and Charlapalli; to Tirupati from Secunderabad, Lingampally, Kacheguda and Charlapalli; to Delhi from Secunderabad and Nampally. When one sells out in seconds, another from a different terminal may still be open. The trap runs the other way too: the Bengaluru Rajdhanis only pass through Secunderabad, and the Sampark Kranti trains to Delhi only pass through Kacheguda, so on those the city gets a small remote-location share — and the Chennai Rajdhani and Tamil Nadu Express don't come into the city at all.
Where to board for Tatkal
Secunderabad starts the Delhi Rajdhani and Duronto and the Vande Bharats to Visakhapatnam and Tirupati. Nampally starts the Telangana and Dakshin Expresses to Delhi and the Godavari. Kacheguda starts the Vande Bharat to Bengaluru. Charlapalli, opened in January 2025, now starts trains to Chennai, Shalimar, Bihar and the Northeast. Secunderabad is being rebuilt and trains are sometimes moved to Charlapalli, Malkajgiri or Nampally for weeks at a time — we check the starting station on your date.
There's no need to go anywhere. Send the journey on WhatsApp the evening before and tell us which side of the city you're on — Charlapalli and Lingampally are at opposite ends — and it is staged before the window opens.
Only a confirmed berth counts. RAC doesn't.
App guarantees treat RAC as a success: you share a berth overnight and they pay nothing. We don't. If we can't deliver a confirmed (CNF) berth, you get a 100% refund, no questions asked — usually the same day, and always within 48 hours of asking — or the alternative that suits you better.

What time does Tatkal booking open?+
Tatkal opens one day before the journey date — generally 10:00 AM for AC classes and 11:00 AM for Sleeper and second seating. Note that it is one day before the date of travel, not the date of booking, which is where people most often miscount and miss the window entirely.
Can you book Tatkal for me?+
Yes — it is a large part of what the desk does daily. Send us the journey the day before travel, ideally the evening before so everything is staged before the window opens. We are at the terminal for both windows every day.
Why does my Tatkal attempt always fail?+
Almost always for one of three reasons: the quota is exhausted within seconds on contested trains, passenger details are being typed rather than pre-staged, or the payment takes longer than the seat hold. None of those is about luck, and all three are what an agent removes.
What is Premium Tatkal?+
A separate quota with dynamic pricing — the fare rises as it fills, so it costs more than ordinary Tatkal but frequently has availability when ordinary Tatkal has gone. On an unmissable journey it is often the right trade, and we will tell you honestly when it is not worth the difference.
Can I get a refund on a confirmed Tatkal ticket?+
Generally no — confirmed Tatkal tickets are not refundable on cancellation, other than in specific circumstances such as the train being cancelled or running very late. That is a Railways rule rather than ours, and it is worth knowing before you book, which is why we say it here rather than after you have paid. Our own promise is separate: if we cannot get you confirmed at all, you get your money back in full.
