Bengaluru Rajdhani tickets
Close to two full days on board. At this distance the class you book stops being a comfort preference and becomes the entire experience — and the length that makes people hesitate is also what makes the waiting list worth holding.

2A is worth the premium here more than on any other Rajdhani; two nights in 3A is perfectly manageable but noticeably less comfortable. 1A is limited and books out first. Whatever you take, do not accept RAC on a journey of this length — we will find another date rather than put you on a side-lower for two nights.
Who travels the Bengaluru Rajdhani, and when
Relocations, family travel and cost-conscious business movement, with a strong student flow at term boundaries. Long lead times are normal on this route and casual late booking is rare, which means availability behaves more predictably than on the Mumbai corridor.
Booking the Bengaluru Rajdhani without getting caught out
- Yesvantpur is the better arrival for north and west Bengaluru; SBC for the centre.
- Two nights means two nights of meals and sleep. Budget the class accordingly rather than saving a few hundred rupees.
- A flight is sometimes genuinely the better answer on this corridor, and we will say so — we are a train-only agency and we still would rather tell you that.
Tatkal on the Bengaluru Rajdhani
The AC window opens at 10:00 and Sleeper at 11:00, one day before travel. On a service this contested it is decided in seconds — our desk is at the terminal for it every day.

How long does the Delhi–Bengaluru Rajdhani take?+
Well over thirty hours — effectively two nights on board. That is the single most important thing to plan around, and it is why we push travellers towards 2A where the budget allows.
Is the waitlist worth holding on this route?+
More often than on short routes. A journey this long accumulates cancellations across the entire booking window, so a general waiting list that looks discouraging can still clear. We will give you a realistic read rather than a hopeful one.
Should I fly instead?+
Sometimes, honestly — thirty-plus hours against a two-and-a-half hour flight is a real trade-off, particularly for business travel. Where the train is the right answer, usually for families, relocations or anyone travelling with a lot of luggage, we will get you the berth.
