On a journey this long the class is the first day of the holiday. 2A suits couples and families; 3A is perfectly comfortable and confirms more readily. 1A — a coupé or cabin — is the only way to travel with a pet, and with a handful of compartments on a twice-weekly train it has to be booked the day your date opens.
