Delhi ↔ Ayodhya

Ayodhya Vande Bharat tickets

Since the Ram Mandir opened, demand on this corridor has behaved unlike anything else on the network. Seats go on dates that look completely ordinary, because the religious calendar rather than the working week decides when people travel.

Which class to actually book

Chair car and executive chair car only — a daytime seat, not a berth. EC is more comfortable and, as on any Vande Bharat, is frequently available when CC has sold out. On a family pilgrimage booking that is often the difference between travelling together and not travelling at all.

This corridor

Who travels the Ayodhya Vande Bharat, and when

Overwhelmingly pilgrimage, and it moves in waves around religious dates rather than weekends. Families book three, four or six seats together, which is a materially harder ask than one — and the reason we ask for the group size before quoting anything.

From our desk

Booking the Ayodhya Vande Bharat without getting caught out

  • Check the religious calendar before you fix a date. On this route it changes the answer more often than anything else.
  • Tell us the group size upfront. Four seats together on a fixed trainset is a different problem from one seat.
  • A Vande Bharat cannot have coaches added, so the waiting list has almost nothing to work with. Book early or take a different train — hoping is not a plan here.

Tatkal on the Ayodhya Vande Bharat

The AC window opens at 10:00 and Sleeper at 11:00, one day before travel. On a service this contested it is decided in seconds — our desk is at the terminal for it every day.

Questions

Ayodhya Vande Bharat, answered

Why is the Ayodhya Vande Bharat always full?+

Because demand follows the religious calendar, not the working week, so a midweek date that looks quiet can be sold out. Add a fixed trainset whose seat count cannot be expanded and you have the tightest booking on the network.

Can you get four or six seats together?+

On an ordinary date usually yes, with lead time. On a major observance we will tell you honestly when it is not achievable rather than splitting your family across the train and letting you discover it at the platform.

What if the Vande Bharat is full?+

There are other services on the corridor, and a conventional train with sleeper or AC berths is often the better answer for a family group anyway — more inventory, and a waiting list that can actually move.
