Who travels Bengaluru to Delhi, and when
Steady all year — people moving cities, family visits, students — with the heaviest pressure in the summer holidays and around Diwali, when north Indian families in Bengaluru head home. The daily Rajdhani and Karnataka Express take the first rush; the Yesvantpur trains run on fewer days, so on any given date their availability looks different from the daily trains.
Six trains start in Bengaluru for Delhi: the daily Rajdhani and Karnataka Express from KSR; from Yesvantpur, the Karnataka Sampark Kranti five days a week via Kacheguda and Nagpur, a second Sampark Kranti twice a week via Pune and Bhopal, the twice-weekly Chandigarh Sampark Kranti and the weekly Duronto. On all of them a Bengaluru booking is on the main general quota (GNWL). The exception is the weekly Kongu Express from Coimbatore, which only passes through KR Puram on a pooled quota. The Delhi ends differ too: Nizamuddin for most, New Delhi for the Karnataka Express, Sarai Rohilla for the Duronto.

Booking Bengaluru–Delhi without getting caught out
- The Rajdhani's Bengaluru station is KSR, with no other stop in the city. Works at KSR have moved trains to other terminals for weeks at a time, so we confirm the starting station for your date.
- North Bengaluru? The Karnataka Express stops at Yelahanka, and the Sampark Kranti trains and the Duronto start at Yesvantpur.
- When the Rajdhani is full, the Sampark Kranti trains carry First AC too — slower, but a confirmed berth beats a waitlisted one.

Bengaluru to Delhi, answered
Rajdhani or Sampark Kranti from Bengaluru to Delhi?+
The Rajdhani is the fastest, at about a day and a half, and runs daily from KSR. The Sampark Kranti trains start at Yesvantpur on fewer days and take longer, but they have First AC and a quota of their own — so when the Rajdhani is waitlisted on your date, one of them may still confirm. We check all of them.
Which Delhi station will I arrive at?+
Hazrat Nizamuddin for the Rajdhani and the Sampark Kranti trains; New Delhi for the Karnataka Express, which calls at Nizamuddin first; Delhi Sarai Rohilla for the Duronto. Nizamuddin is the easiest of them for South Delhi and Gurugram.
Is a waitlisted Bengaluru–Delhi ticket worth holding?+
On a train that starts in Bengaluru you are on the general waiting list, and on a journey this long cancellations come in right across the booking window. On the Kongu Express from KR Puram you are on a pooled list, which moves differently. Send us the PNR and we'll read it honestly.
