Start at KSR and you're on the main quota: the Vande Bharats to Dharwad and to Belagavi (six days a week each), the daily Jan Shatabdi and Siddhaganga Intercity by day, and overnight trains to Belagavi, Hubballi, Sangli (the Rani Chennamma) and Sindhanur. The Hampi and Vishwamanava Expresses start in Mysuru, and erail marks KSR as remote-location on them, as it does on the Chennai–Hubballi and Kochuveli–Hubballi trains passing through. The Jan Shatabdi has no berths — chair car and second sitting only.

The Vande Bharats get you there in about five and a half hours by day, in chair car or executive chair car. The overnight trains from KSR give you a berth and a full morning in Hubballi. Both start in Bengaluru, so both are on the main quota.
Can I go on to Belagavi or Goa?+
Belagavi has its own Vande Bharat from KSR and an overnight train. For Goa, the daily Yesvantpur–Vasco Express runs through Hubballi and Dharwad.
