Bengaluru to Mumbai train tickets
Bengaluru (Bangalore) to Mumbai has no Rajdhani and no Duronto. It is a night and most of a day on a small number of trains, split between two routes — and whether your train starts in Bengaluru or only passes through decides most of the booking.

Who travels Bengaluru to Mumbai, and when
Business travel and family visits all year, with Pune on the way adding its own demand to the same trains. With so few direct trains they fill well ahead at holiday time, and festival specials run on this route in the Diwali season.
Two trains start in Bengaluru: the daily Udyan Express from KSR to CSMT, via Guntakal, Solapur and Pune, and the twice-weekly SMVT–LTT Express, new in May 2026, via Hubballi, Belagavi, Miraj and Pune. On those you are on the main general quota. The others — the daily Coimbatore–LTT train and the Chalukya Express to Dadar among them — start in Tamil Nadu or Puducherry, and on them Bengaluru gets a remote-location quota (RLWL), which moves far less than the general list.
Stations on this route
- Boarding in Bengaluru
- KSR Bengaluru City (SBC), SMVT Bengaluru (SMVB), Yelahanka (YNK)
- Arriving in Mumbai
- Mumbai CSMT, Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT), Dadar (DR)
Booking Bengaluru–Mumbai without getting caught out
- The Udyan also stops at Bengaluru Cantonment and Yelahanka — useful from the centre-east and the north.
- The SMVT–LTT train runs only twice a week, so check its days before building a plan around it.
- Going to Pune? Both routes pass through Pune, and the trains that start in Bengaluru give you the main quota for it as well.

Bengaluru to Mumbai, answered
Is there a Rajdhani from Bengaluru to Mumbai?+
No — no Rajdhani or Duronto runs between the two cities. The daily train that starts in Bengaluru is the Udyan Express from KSR to CSMT; twice a week there is also the SMVT–LTT Express via Hubballi and Belagavi.
Why won't my Bengaluru–Mumbai waiting list move?+
Usually because the train doesn't start in Bengaluru. On the Coimbatore–LTT train or the Chalukya Express, a Bengaluru booking is on a remote-location quota, and even a low RLWL number can sit still. On the Udyan or the SMVT–LTT train you are on the general list. Send us the PNR and we'll tell you which you have.
