Bhopal Shatabdi tickets
A daily day train that doubles as the premium link to Agra, Gwalior and Jhansi on the way to Bhopal. That mix is what makes it tricky: tourists heading for the Taj, officials heading for Gwalior and business travellers heading for Bhopal all want the same chair car seats.

Chair car and executive chair car. For the short hop to Agra, CC is fine and EC is the easy fallback when CC has gone. For the full run to Bhopal, EC is worth it — you are seated most of the day, and it sells more slowly than CC on busy dates.
Who travels the Bhopal Shatabdi, and when
Business and government travel to Gwalior and Bhopal on weekdays, and tourist traffic to Agra that peaks in winter and on long weekends. Shorter Agra journeys use seats that longer-distance travellers need, so the Bhopal end of a booking is often harder than it looks.
Booking the Bhopal Shatabdi without getting caught out
- Going only as far as Agra or Gwalior? Tell us — the seats available for part of the route can differ from the full journey.
- EC is the fallback most travellers never check, and on this train it often has space when CC has sold out.
- The Bhopal Vande Bharat leaves from Hazrat Nizamuddin on the same corridor. If one is full, we check the other.

Bhopal Shatabdi, answered
Does the Bhopal Shatabdi stop at Agra and Gwalior?+
Yes. Agra, Gwalior and Jhansi are among its stops between New Delhi and Rani Kamalapati in Bhopal, which is why it is as much an Agra and Gwalior train as a Bhopal one.
Bhopal Shatabdi or Bhopal Vande Bharat?+
The Vande Bharat is generally quicker and leaves from Hazrat Nizamuddin; the Shatabdi runs every day from New Delhi. Which is better depends on your date and which side of Delhi you start from — our Vande Bharat vs Shatabdi guide explains it, or ask us to check both.
Will a chair car waiting list on the Bhopal Shatabdi clear?+
Often not on a busy date, because a day train has few cancellations. We would rather move you to EC, or to the Vande Bharat on the same corridor, than leave you on a list that won't move.
