Booking Varanasi without getting caught out
- Book the return when you book the outbound — trains out of Varanasi are often tighter than trains in.
- Varanasi has two main stations, Varanasi Junction and Banaras. We'll tell you which one your train uses.
- Dev Deepawali and Mahashivratri fill the city and the trains. Check your dates against them before you book flights.

Is the Vande Bharat to Varanasi hard to get?+
It's one of the busiest corridors in the country, and religious dates fill it without warning. Book as early as you can. We'll tell you honestly which dates are realistic, and whether the executive chair car is the better bet.
